Highland Panoramas

Preview

Below are a selection of mini panormas of Sandaig and the Sound of Sleat in the highlands of Scotland. All of them are only a fraction of the size of the full size panorama on the site and typically each one is only showing a portion of the full panorama.

This web page is intended to provide a search engine friendly preview of a small sample of the panoramas on this web site.

Then we continue on the road south of Glenelg down to Sandaig islands, aka Camusfearna in Gavin Maxwell's Ring Of Bright Water.
Sandaig
Sandaig
This is Sandaig where Gavin Maxwell, the author of Ring of Bright Water lived. The trees weren't here then, and they've beem felled since this panorama was shot. The white house is now in a very poor state of repair.

Sandaig
Sandaig
Sandaig at high tide. This is the highest we've seen it.

Sandaig
Sandaig
The view from the white house at Sandaig. People would pay a lot for a house with a view like this.

Skye & Sound of Sleat from Sandaig
Skye & Sound of Sleat from Sandaig
A view of Sandaig's nearest island and Skye. We were lucky enough to see an otter along this shore.

Sandaig's furthest beach
Sandaig's furthest beach
Sandaig is made up of small islands. This is the furthest island you can get to on foot but only when the tide is very low as it was when this panorama was shot. As you can guess this strip of beach doesn't stay around long.

The Sound of Sleat
The Sound of Sleat
It looks as if its snowed on Skye, but its a very low layer of cloud.
